THE PLAN – AN PHLEAN

Major development plans are underway for Westport Town Hall. These plans will not only restore the Town Hall to its former grandeur but they also include major extensions to incorporate proper dressing rooms and a balcony overlooking the Octagon.
Permission has been granted from Westport Town Council for the works which will enable the Town Hall to become a purpose-built performing arts and cultural centre, incorporating tourism facilities, youth and other activities. It will facilitate all groups. Ownership of the Town Hall will be vested in the local community.
The plan, drawn up in consultation with the architectural departments of both Mayo County Council and Westport Town Council, is functional, practical and aesthetically pleasing and will blend seamlessly into Westport’s heritage designed streetscape. Ar aghaidh linn!
